AI WEI WEI: NEVER SORRY

From my point of view, AI WEI WEI is really a celebrated artist and detector in China or even across the world. He bravely tends to discover something reality in China, in the meantime, he also reveals China government used to mask what happened to this society such as Sichuan(四川) earthquake, which depends on their more and more powerful politics. Moreover, he has made lots of efforts to push government to listen to people's voice in China, but eventually he still can't fight against China government and he was suddenly jailed for 81 days.

However, his piece, especially "NEVER SORRY", which aggressively explain why he never apologizes to some people and government because they always attempt to respond people's request behind reality. By do this, some people in China gradually believe that AI WEI WEI could lead them to freedom.

Compared with China, similarly in Taiwan, there are a couple of issues which are unfair and produced under the table. For instance, the content of history textbook from high school has slightly modified and does not match to the correct reality. After that, most students get started parading the street to appeal for making the right decision in education. Actually, it is proceeding as planned in Taiwan.

IFAD: Dominant Language - Yu Soo Park

Art Review for Dominant Language
This basic idea is to show how language is controlling yourself and this society across the world.
Without doubt, Language is quite crucial for communicating and embracing with people.

In the video she produced, it can be seen that it combines a variety of language such as French, Spanish, English and so on, with her piece. In the meantime, she made this video by stop-motion animation along with clips that she has collected during her journey to London.

In my opinion, it doesn't only explain that Language would be dominant to interpret what you think of, but also it can point out that any kinds of ideas should be conveyed by correct and appropriate language which mean people have to use these for different kinds of situation.

Shortly, from this video, personally I believe language can bring people to live in perfect harmony rather than it just causes  people to misunderstand each other, In addition, to learning another language is quite helpful to compare with different culture. Thus, you could take this opportunity to benefit your life experience.

Let's enjoy journey by language from now on.

KEEP CALM AND LOSE YOURSELF: Finding your way

Finding your way
By doing this project 2, I have continuously generated ideas about my career in progress. In the meantime, I get started memorising all of these by filming or photographing because I believe images are usually touching enough to be worth collecting. Actually, time is fly and lots of moments disappear I am afraid.

Through this trip in Oxford, as to me, I try to walk slowly across the street and browse some stylish stores where I really fall in love. In addition, whatever galleries or museums  I visit, this gives me more different thinking and how to criticize artists' works objectively.

From my experience, I have ever tripped to another country alone with the aim of recognizing and finding my way, Most importantly, I personally consider that everything I have been participating in will be beneficial to overcome a variety of difficulties.

Finally, I recommend you to watch a movie called "CHEF", which is a little bit of comedy and ridiculous. The reason is because the chef create more and more ideas to chill out by doing his special dishes. Therefore, he eventually find out the lovely relationship between family is the key to his success.

RICHARD LONG : A LINE MADE BY WALKING

A line made by walking
England 1967

In the nature of things:
Art about mobility, lightness and freedom.
Simple creative acts of walking and marking
about place, locality, time, distance and measurement.
Works using raw materials and my human scale
in the reality of landscapes.

The music of stones, paths of shared foot marks,

sleeping by the river's roar.

Long has commented about this work:
Nature has always been recorded by artists, from prehistoric cave paintings to twentieth-century landscape photography. I too wanted to make nature the subject of my work, but in new ways. I started working outside using natural materials like grass and water, and this evolved into the idea of making a sculpture by walking … My first work made by walking, in 1967, was a straight line in a grass field, which was also my own path, going ‘nowhere’. In the subsequent early map works, recording very simple but precise walks on Exmoor and Dartmoor, my intention was to make a new art which was also a new way of walking: walking as art.
(Tufnell 2007, p.39.) / Referencehttp://www.vam.ac.uk/ (access to the website on 15, July, 2015)

"The only real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes; in seeing the universe through the eyes of another, one hundred others - in seeing the hundred universes that each of them sees."
in search of lost time(1922, Marcel Proust)

Normally, most people tend to live in their comfort zone, and therefore they apparently used to go to the same place such as  restaurants, stores, etc. Perhaps, they might try to wander the street and browse the trendy stylish shops as a way to relax and unwind.
Even though they walk along the street near home, I believe it is quite heady to find out something new. For instance, a man come to talk to you with his feeling suddenly, in the meantime, there are interesting and crazy things given by him. This could help you generate unique ideas and experience better life.  Absolutely, having new eyes will embrace your new world. Thus, it is not a day dream!

From unknown to comprehension, it's a unexpected  and spiritual journey for me.
Through losing yourself, I will push myself to accept change and reality. Then, I will specifically focus on a lovely part of process you have to encounter until the end.
Actually, sometimes I am afraid of losing everything I ever had, but how come I leave my hometown for Europe to discover what I never have seen. Obviously, I have found the answer to question here.

In sum, personally  I really prefer to look at Richard Long's photographs, especially
"A line by walking." It represents how he got along with himself in a harmony while he traveled to another places alone. As a result, he was getting started making his first work in 1967 in England. After that, he has never gotten off his fantastic trip so far.

What's next? It's up to you! Before taking a day trip, check Richard Long's works out first.

Art is Out of museum

TAICHI
Ju Ming is Taiwanese sculptor working in wide range of materials including wood, bronze, and styrofoam, ceramics and glass. This work is one of Ju's series on the theme taichi, inspired by the phsical practice and mental discipline of this ancient art of boxing.

Personally, this work is formed by abstract image compared to real image,
but it still gives me the glorious atmosphere.

Ashmolean Museum: God in colour

GOD IN COLOUR
These works really look colourful and patterned!
Perhaps, This way might be close to God.

This exhibition of over twenty full-size colour reconstructions of Greek and Roman sculptures challenges the popular notion of classical white marble sculpture. It shows that ancient statues were far more colourful, complex, and exuberant than is often thought.

These vividly show lots of ancient Greece and Roman's stories through colourful sculptures
so that tourists can understand all of them clearly.

DIRECTOR'S CUT: In a series of monthly blogs,
Paul Hobson reflects on current developments in contemporary art:

"In the 1960s and 1970s, artists began to draw attention to the constructed nature of our identities. Continuing this line of critique, artists of the current generation are frequently representing an idea of identity that is not only constructed, but that is unstable, mutable and inconsistent." (MODERN ART OXFORD, 2015)

Contemporary art gives me how to reconstruct thinking you learnt before because I can find out new media and technique used in this exhibition, especially Lynn Hershman.

Obviously, she is a funny and crazy artist I think. She entirely spreads out her interactive art, which the relationship between real and virtual worlds.

The Breathing Machines,
a series of was casts of artist face and positioned in a perspex box along with a tape recorder playing breathing sound.(ORIGINS OF THE SPECIES PART 2,2015)

Honestly, I am close to this art work and look at it in detail. Thus I am a little bit afraid of playing breathing sound. However, it gives me more creative ideas which inspire me how to organise new media and chaos with works in perfect harmony.

Shortly, the title of the exhibition refers to the topic which the artist has explored most often – the impact, both detrimental and otherwise, of technology on our lives and identities. (Aesthetica Magazine, 2015) Actually, she really attempts to use unique ways to convey her original thinking.

As to me, all of these works from her truly enlighten me on my feature career, even though her ideas often show conflicts between aesthetic and concept. In other words,

I highly appreciate that I can attend to her fantastic art trip and find ways to lose myself. Finally, it seems to me that art is motivating and interacting, and even it can reflect on this society.
